How results work
Scores are confirmed by Eightball from two sources, then open for review. A tie pays 50 per share. A game that doesn't count is undone for everyone.
Scores are confirmed by Eightball from ESPN and nflverse, then open for 2 hours of review. We are the ones who confirm the score, and we say so.
The life of a pick
From the pick slip to your PICK being credited, and what you see at each step. Try the other branches.
Bears win? 40 (40% chance). Stake 100. Pays 250 if right.
From final whistle to credit
- Final · checking. The game is over. We wait for both sources to agree on the final score.
- Final · settling. The score is confirmed. A 2-hour review window opens. See something wrong? Report it.
- Credited. PICK lands in your balance, usually under three hours after the final whistle.
If the sources disagree, nobody confirms the score until a person checks the official game book.
Reporting a problem
Every report is checked against three sources. If a report raises a real problem, the result goes Under review and PICK is credited once it is decided, usually within a few hours.
Ties
A regular-season NFL game can end in a tie after overtime. On the winner market, each side pays 50 per share. That is a result: it counts for your record and your reputation.
Spreads and totals can't tie, because every line is a half point.
When a game doesn't count
A game counts if it kicks off, or finishes, within 36 hours of its first scheduled time. It doesn't count if it is cancelled, declared no contest, or played against a different opponent. A change of stadium does not stop a game from counting.
A tie vs a game that doesn't count
Same three players, same picks, two endings. Switch the ending and watch where everyone lands.
- AnaBought the Bears at 40 for 100+23
- BenBought the Packers at 60 for 150−28
- CalBought the Bears at 30, sold at 45 before kickoff+29
A tie is a result: winners and losers stay as they are, and it counts for your record.
If a game doesn't count, every pick on it is undone, as if it never happened.
- You get back what you paid, fees included.
- If you sold a pick early at a profit, that profit is taken back too, because the game never counted.
- If you sold at a loss, that loss is refunded.
- An undone game doesn't count for your record or your reputation. XP you already earned stays.
Why the full unwind? Paying 50 a share on a game that never happened would hand a profit to anyone who bought cheap, and a loss to anyone who bought high. Undoing everything is the only fair answer: everyone ends at zero.
Picks placed after kickoff
If our kickoff time was wrong and a pick filled after the real kickoff, that pick is cancelled and your PICK comes back. The rest of the market stands.
After PICK is credited
Results are final once PICK is credited. A later stat correction by the league does not reopen a market. If we confirmed a wrong score, we make it right: you are credited, and we say it was our mistake.
